We begin with Tyrion back in his cell. Even if the trial had continued, I'm not sure the courtroom could contain him any more after how well he chewed the scenery last time. Jaime's plan to save Tyrion's life didn't pan out, but does Tyrion have a plan of his own? With Jaime still learning to fight as a southpaw, who could possibly step up to fight on Tyrion's behalf in a trial by combat?
